RITUALS

"Music should be a sound manifestation directly related to the universal cosmic system.” André Jolivet thus refers to his desire to create dramatic, inspired music with an undeniable impact. This is also our wish. Through each of these Rituals, you will hear music that is both intimate and grandiose, calling on every fiber of your imagination. Sounds like incantations, almost eternal silences. Ancient gongs and chimes, heartwrenching cries, intoxicating whispers, and all the magic conjured not only by the genius of Debussy and Jolivet, but also by North Americans including Claude Vivier, Lowell Liebermann and Gary Kulesha.

ROCOCO-INSPIRED

France in the middle of the 18th century: an aristocratic culture which quickly conquered the courts of Central Europe and Russia, as well as their artists. Whether painters, musicians, sculptors or architects, everyone is charmed by this rococo, synonymous with symmetry and elegance. In the same order of ideas, Prisma draws on these notions of lightness, joie de vivre and gallant colours in order to offer a program celebrating all the ingenuity of the composers attached to this movement. By reinventing, among other things, the Classical Symphony by Sergei Prokofiev, and the Italian Suite by Stravinsky, the flute and the piano rejoice in an aesthetic perfectly suited to their sound combination, while adding a touch of audacity to these pages of music of Rococo-Inspired.
